Insta-Cure™ |
Water thin viscosity means that Insta-Cure will wick deep into a
joint by capillary action and set within seconds. Surfaces to be
bonded should be accurately fitting and should be kept in tight
contact while curing takes place. The CA can be applied around
the edges of the join and will penetrate by capillary action. Because
of its capacity to penetrate finely porous surfaces Insta-Cure
is ideal for bonding balsa wood as it penetrates into the wood
producing a join that is more substantial than just purely a surface
bond. |

Insta-Cure+™ |
| A higher viscosity CA,
Insta-Cure+ is best suited for bonding surfaces that are less well
fitting, the higher viscosity allowing the medium to bridge any gaps
that are present in the joint. Typically the adhesive is applied
to one surface after which the parts are held firmly together while
curing takes place. For laminating, where larger surface areas are
bonded Insta-Cure+ is the ideal choice. Laying down beads of glue
across the surface prevents premature curing and bringing the surfaces
together causes the beads to spread out optimising the contact area
that is bonded. |

Maxi-Cure™ |
| For the best performance
with most plastics it also performs well with fibreglass, metal,
hardwood and rubber. Used in conjunction with Insta-Set it can be
used to great effect for modifying or filling voids. When cured it
can be sculptured with a knife or blade, can be sanded and fine feathered
producing a finish that is indistinguishable from plastic. |

IC-2000™ |
With a formula that toughens the Cyanoacrylate with the addition
of rubber IC-2000 creates bonds on non-porous surfaces that are
highly resistant to shock and vibration. This flexible bonding
capability can also be used to great effect when working with metals,
fibreglass, rubber and carbon fibre. Curing time is 20 to 40 seconds,
which can be accelerated with the addition of Insta-Set. When cured
IC-2000 remains pliable enough to be carved with a hobby knife.
It’s flexibility and high bond strength makes it ideal for gluing
rubber tyres onto wheels. |

Insta-Flex™ |
Curing to a flexible
clear bond Insta-Flex offers good strength along side excellent
resistance to vibration and shock. It retains these qualities even
if the process is accelerated with the addition of Insta-Set. Although
it is slightly thicker than Insta-Flex it still remains still thin
enough to be used in situations where capillary action is needed
to introduce the adhesive to the surfaces being bonded. The vapour
that Insta-Flex gives off whilst curing is less irritating than
other CA’s but it must not be used to bond white foam. |

Insta-Flex+™ |
Insta-Flex+ has very similar
characteristics to the black IC-2000 but as it is clear can be used
in situations where it’s not desirable for the adhesive to be visible.
It doesn’t contain the black carbon component that gives IC-2000
its extra strength and as such does not produce such a strong bond,
but the difference is minimal and the resulting bond it is still
stronger than those produced by standard CA’s.
The most suitable for forming bonds with soft urethane and vinyl plastics Insta-Flex+
produced a strong, low visible flexible joint that is highly resistant to shock.
Both Insta-Flex and Insta-Flex+ are ideal for gluing rubber tyres to wheels,
whether it be on aircraft or cars. |

IC-Gel™ |
A Cyanoacrylate paste with a gel-like consistency IC-Gel has the
same curing time and bonding characteristics as Maxi-Cure but because
of it’s consistency provides CA delivery in almost any plane. On
vertical or even under horizontal surfaces IC-Gel can be easily
applied from its tube and will stay in place. It is worth noting
that the gel tends to continue to come out of the tube for a second
after pressure is released so this should be taken into account
when applying the correct amount.
IC-Gel is also an excellent putty when used on plastic models.
It is very malleable and can be shaped quite easily to fill or
modify voids and when Insta-Set is applied the IC-Gel can be filed,
ground or sanded within 20 seconds.
be on aircraft or cars. |

Pocket CA |
 |
The 21g(3/4 oz) size, dubbed the Pocket CA is available with Insta-Cure,
Insta-Cure+, Maxi-Cure and Super-Gold CA’s. It features a slightly
different top that is designed more for use in the field. The top
incorporates an internal pin so that when screwed in place the
bottle is sealed meaning no loss when rattling around in a toolbox.
To facilitate the pin the top of the bottle is a little thicker
than a standard top making application of small amounts of CA difficult,
but the addition of the extender tip solves this problem. |

Insta-Set™ |

|
The property of surfaces to be bonded has a direct effect on the
speed at which the bond will cure. Low moisture and ph increase
curing times. Accelerator is formulated to condition the join so
that the CA will harden in less than ten seconds. It can be used
to cure larger amounts of CA as found in lose joints and sets any
excess that may squeeze out of a joint before it can cause problems
dripping or sticking unexpected components, like fingers!
Insta-Set™ is a catalyst that accelerates the curing process by
enhancing the alkaline levels during the polymerisation process.
Applied from a spay bottle it is usually applied to harden the
CA that flows from a joint, but it can also be applied to one of
the surfaces to be bonded, the other carrying the CA will bond
immediately the surfaces come into contact with each other.
Insta-Set is enhanced with a strawberry scent and activates CA
in six to eight seconds. Unlike some accelerators it doesn’t degrade
and reduce the strength of the CA and it is compatible with all
surfaces including white foam and clear plastic. |

Un-Cure™ |
A debonder that will soften cured CA. If parts are bonded incorrectly
or your fingers are stuck together, a few drops will dissolve the
CA in about a minute. Apply on bonded skin and roll apart fingers.
Once stuck, use acetone to clean off softened CA, then wash off
with soap and water. |
