Hangar 9 Saratoga
The Saratoga 40 ARF from Hangar 9 is an easy flying shoulder wing
.40 size sport airplane designed for relaxed flying. With its open
cockpit, rounded tail surfaces and classic looks the model is reminiscent
of aircraft from the 1930’s, however despite its classic looks the
Saratoga is capable of a wide range of aerobatics.
The Saratoga is constructed from sturdy lightweight balsa and plywood
covered in UltraCote with a black and white checkerboard design on
the bottom of the wing contrasting nicely with the clean sharp lines
on the top of the wing, this not only adds to the classic looks it
also makes the model easy to see and helps the pilot with orientation
in the sky.
Assembling the model could not be easier as most of the work is
already completed for you the control surfaces come pre-hinged with
pre-installed control horns, pre-painted fiberglass cowl and wheel
pants and a two-piece bolt-on wing that removes quickly and easily
for easy transport whilst the bolt-on tail plane ensures proper alignment
without the need for gluing.
The Saratoga can be powered with either a glow engine or an electric
motor, a clear (dummy) see through cowl is included to assist in
engine installation and should you wish to fly electric power all
of the neccessary conversion hardware is included and thanks to the
top mounted battery hatch access to the flight battery is quick and
easy without the need to remove the wing to change the battery.
For even more fun this versatile sport model also comes with float
mounts allowing the Hangar9 40-size floats (HAN 4015) to bolt fitted
easily so you can take off and land on water! |
