AT-6 Texan

The pilot maker! The AT-6 Texan was one of the all time great trainers of World War Two, used by the many allied air forces to train pilots who were on their way to flying some of the world's best known fighters such as the British Spitfire and Hurricane, the American P51 Mustang and P47 Thunderbolt. This rugged aircraft with its tail dragger undercarriage was an ideal stepping stone on the way to becoming a fighter pilot.

Of the numerous colour schemes used on the full size version Hangar 9 has chosen to replicate with UltraCote® a striking U.S Navy scheme with a deep blue fuselage and yellow wings based on a fully restored Texan owned by Fred Johnson of Ocala, Florida, U.S.A.
The AT6 is a great way to get into scale flying, scale aerobatics, or just flying the circuit with “touch and gos” thrown in just for good measure, just like the full-size Texan.
The model comes with a host of scale details; preinstalled retracting undercarriage with doors, a fibreglass cowl with molded dummy radial engine and a ready painted canopy. The scale appearance is set off with a full set of decals, including instrument panels.
This is a scale model that can be “air ready” in a very short time, and with an Evolution 60 engine up front there is no shortage of performance. With Hangar 9’s attention to detail, no shortage of style either!
