The Piper Pawnee was designed for
agricultural crop dusting and spraying, featuring cranked wings
to get the spray bars running along the trailing edge as close
to the crops as possible. The undercarriage was designed to be
very strong to absorb the bumps and rough takeoffs and landings
that occurred on dirt roads and unmade landing strips. Many Pawnees
have now found their way onto airfields where they are used successfully
as glider tugs.
With the scale modeller in mind Hangar 9 have put a great deal
of thought and detail into the Piper Pawnee 40 ARF. This rarely
modelled almost-ready-to-fly airplane features all of the scale
outline and detail of its full-scale counterpart. Items like aluminium
wing-struts, pre-formed durable landing gear, Piper “balloon” wheels
and tires, and scale fully functioning flaps all feature along
with a detailed cockpit and instrument panel.
The model can be flown using either a 2 or 4 stroke glow engine
or converted to electric power for clean no-fuss flying. Hardware
is included for easy conversion along with all the other necessary
hardware needed to complete the model. The Pawnee has extremely
gentle flight characteristics making it perfect for new to moderately
experienced pilots. |
