Hangar
9 have redefined how a basic trainer model should look with the
introduction of the stunning F-22 Raptor! Using the exclusive
Progressive Training System (PTS) technology Hangar 9 have set
the bench-mark as to how a basic trainer should look and fly.
With removable NACA droops fitted to the wings and the use of
re-positionable flaps the new F-22 Raptor PTS is a perfect first
trainer for pilots wanting to get away from traditional, boxy
trainers.
The plastic NACA droops attach to the outer leading edge of the
wing at the wing tips having the effect of altering the wing section
and produce added lift. This not only helps stabilise the Raptor
but further, helps eliminate tip stalls or spins. Another feature
of the Raptor is the way in which the flaps can be set. The flaps
can be preset specifically for basic training in either the mid
or full down positions providing both speed control and added lift.
Once you have mastered the basics of flying, there is no need to
rush out and buy another model, simply remove the droops, add two
servos to have fully functioning flaps, and you have a fantastic
jet-like sport model with superb flight characteristics.
Hangar 9 have thought of everything to make the Raptor one
of the best models you will ever own. Installing your radio
equipment is easy thanks to the quick-release, easy-access
hatches are that spring-loaded allowing easy access to the
radio receiver, servos, flight battery and fuel tank. The front
hatch (canopy) allows access to the steerable nose-gear and
has a pre-painted “jet-jockey” pilot figure installed.
Assembly of this model could not be easier thanks to the bolt
on tail sections, and the bolt on wing panels that simply slide
onto the wing tube, allowing for convenient transport and storage.
So if you want to go from trainer plane to a “Top Gun” plane
with a single purchase, it has to be the F-22 Raptor PTS from
Hangar 9.
