Hangar 9’s newly revised
P-51 Mustang Mk II PTS with it’s striking new high visibility semi-scale
WW2 markings and colour scheme is perfect for the novice pilot looking
for a more attractive trainer. Equipped with the unique Progressive
Trainer System (PTS) this model performs two main functions superbly.
Firstly with the help of a flight instructor it may be used as a
primary trainer and flown with the NACA droops fitted to the outer
leading edge of the wing at the wing tip. These have the effect of
changing the wing section helping to generate more lift and reducing
the risk of “tip stalling” a big advantage during flight training.
Secondly once the pilot has mastered basic flight training the droops
may be removed transforming the ready to fly Mustang trainer into
a smooth flying semi-scale sport model. Removing the droops makes
it capable of more advanced manoeuvres such as loops, spins, snap
rolls and just like a full-size Mustang perfect “victory rolls”,
so there is no need for the pilot to rush out and purchase a second
model as flying skills are developed.
The included Spektrum DX6i is a 2.4GHz DSM2™ 6-channel programmable
computer transmitter is designed to provide freedom from frequency
clashes and interference. With a variety of easy to use features
and programmable functions the DX6i radio system is perfect for the
novice pilot with an easy to program menu displayed on the large
LCD screen on the transmitter. Also included with the Mustang is
Evolution Engines’ no-fuss Trainer Power System 0.45cu-in engine.
With it’s unique external flywheel and three bladed propeller, it
comes ready to start right from the box with no tuning or lengthy
running-in period necessary.
The Mustang Mk II PTS comes ready-to-fly and there is no building
required, just a few simple assembly steps and the illustrated assembly
manual guides you through each simple stage resulting in a model
that takes the pilot from novice pilot to “fighter pilot” in no time
at all. |
