E-flite has replicated all of purposeful looks and character of this great aircraft perfectly with this superb rendition that comes in ARF form with most of the hard work done. This electric ducted fan model features a beautifully moulded and pre painted fibreglass fuselage, sheeted foam wings and flying surfaces covered in matching Ultracote covering, with all of the decals and markings representing an aircraft of the United States Navy "Sundowners" fighter squadron. Designed to accept the high performance E-flite Delta V 32 80mm ducted fan unit (EFLDF32) and E-flite DF32 brushless motor 2150kv (EFLM3032DFA) the model possesses more than enough "get up and go" to deliver realistic jet performance. The fuselage features complete internal ducting for both the intake and exhaust for maximum performance along with two large magnetic access hatches allowing access to the flight batteries and radio equipment. The removable wings come with carbon spar blade, functioning flaps for better slow speed handling and the option to fit E-flite's 15-25 size retractable tricycle landing gear (EFLG230) Just like the full-size the model has an all-moving tail-plane (stabilator) and this system delivers superb, precise pitch control and adds immensely to the overall scale looks of the model. The F-4 Phantom with its stunning looks and outstanding performance is the perfect ducted fan model for intermediate to advanced pilots looking for a great flying sport jet that can be put in the air with the minimum of effort!
F-4 Phantom Manufactured by McDonnell Douglas from 1958 to 1981 with over 5000 built and flown by the air wings of the United States Navy, Marines and Air-force, the F-4 Phantom was a highly successful all weather, twin-seat, twin engine fighter bomber. A highly versatile aircraft the Phantom also set many records. It was America's most numerous supersonic military aircraft, it had a continuous production run of 24 years and it set many world speed records during 1959 to1962, five of which were not broken until 1975 when the F-15 Eagle entered service. The F-4 Phantom also has the distinction of being the last United States fighter flown to attain ace status in the 20th century. During the Vietnam War the USAF and the USN both had pilots that become aces in air-to-air combat. In more peaceful times the F-4 Phantom was also the only aircraft to be used by both the USAF Thunderbirds (F-4E) and USN Blue Angels (F-4J) display teams; both switched to the Phantom for the 1969 season, with the Thunderbirds flying it for five seasons whilst the Blue Angels flew it for six. |
