The Schweizer 300

The Schweizer 300 (formerly Hughes 300) family of light utility helicopters was originally produced by Hughes Tool Company's Aircraft Division as a development of the Hughes 269 helicopter that first flew in 1956 and entered production in 1960.
Now manufactured by Schweizer Aircraft, the basic design has been in production for over 50 years. The relatively simple airframe and single three-bladed main rotor piston-powered Schweizer 300 is mostly used as a very cost-effective platform for training, agriculture work and police duties.

Between Hughes and Schweizer, and including foreign-licensed production civil and military training aircraft, nearly 3,000 copies of the Model 269/300 have been built and flown over the last 50 years.

The E-Flite mCX S300 RTF

E-flite have taken all of the simplistic charm of this full-size helicopter and paired it with the highly successful Blade mCX chassis and electronics to give modellers the chance to fly a micro-sized semi-scale version with the new Blade mCX S300.
The mCX S300 features a lightweight scale body and dummy rotating tail-rotor along with white main rotor blades for an enhanced scale look, whilst retaining all of the superb features of the original Blade mCX.

The Blade mCX S300 offers amazing stability and precise control thanks to its coaxial, counter-rotating head design that helps negate the torque effect of single rotor blades, and the 2.4GHz DSM2 radio system.

The mCX S300 features a rotor span of just 7.5 inches and with a one-ounce flying weight can be flown just about anywhere indoors almost from an office to a small bedroom or living room, it can even be flown outdoors in very calm conditions!

This fantastic little helicopter comes ready to fly right out of the box with everything included and it’s completely assembled and flight-tested. The radio and electronics are pre-installed installed so there is no assembly or further set-up needed, just charge up the flight battery and fly.

This “one box purchase” includes a 1s 3.7volt 110 mAh LiPo battery (EFLB1101S) and convenient battery-powered DC LiPo charger, fully proportional four-channel transmitter equipped with Spektrum 2.4GHz DSM2 technology for interference free flying, eight AA batteries, four for use in the transmitter, and four for use in the charger.

The 2.4GHz DSM2 technology offers pilots the freedom to fly without the risk of frequency clashes and allows the Blade mCX to be flown anywhere indoors with precise four-channel control.

When it comes to micro helicopter fun everyone can enjoy, you simply can’t beat the outstanding scale looks and performance of the Blade mCX S300 from E-flite.

  Why two rotors?

Why Two Rotors?
The mCX S300’s coaxial, counter-rotating blades cancel out the rotational torque that makes hovering a conventional heli so difficult for first-time pilots. They also make rudder turns much easier by simply slowing one blade or the other without sacrificing any of the inherent stability. This truly is a heli just about anyone can fly, right out of the box.
