Aimed at the scale electric enthusiast, the J-3 Cub 25 ARF from E-flite is at the top of its class in scale appearance and performance. The Cub has a host of scale details including true scale inset ailerons, the only electric powered J-3 Cub on the market to have that feature. Other superb scale details include, a pre-painted cowl with dummy engine cylinders and cooling vents, painted wing struts, “doughnut” style Cub wheels and hub caps, and of course the famous yellow Cub colour scheme using Ultracote.
Laser-cut top quality balsa and light ply is used throughout the Cub’s construction resulting in a lightweight, strong airframe that handles incredibly well in most flying situations, and in particular slow flight especially during the landing approach, allowing very scale-like landings to be achieved. The recessed firewall with pre-cut cooling vents is set up for use with an outrunner motor, such as E-flite’s Power 25, which is a perfect power match for the airframe. Optional semi scale “Edo” floats add an exciting new dimension to the scale flying experience, with water taxi, take off’s and landings on water! The floats are easy to install as they simply fit into the pre-installed float mounts. The one-piece wing allows for easy transportation to the flying field, and the magnetic battery hatch is quickly and easily removed when its time to change or recharge the batteries. Cooling vents are pre-cut in the battery hatch, and these along with the firewall vents allow for maximum airflow and heat dissipation to protect these vital components.
