Parkzone’s Bf-109 Bind-N-Fly electric version is finished in the typical WW2 markings of an aircraft flown by Luftwaffe ace Erich Hartmann with his personal emblem of the “Schwarze Tulpe” or Black Tulip paint scheme on the nose of the model.

In addition to the semi-scale colour scheme the model also features a lightweight molded Z-foam airframe with full panel line and hatch detail, molded exhaust stacks, the later “Galland” type canopy, painted pilot figure, removable main landing gear with lightweight foam tyres, spiral painted spinner with three-bladed propeller and for a relatively small model a realistically scale finish and outline.

On-board the radio installation comprises of fully installed three wire servos, a ready to bind full-range Spektrum AR500 2.4Ghz receiver and an 30 Amp switch mode brushless electronic speed controller.

The powerful 480 brushless motor and 3 cell Li-Po battery combine to give the Bf-109 typical warbird performance and with four channel control the model can perform all of the warbird manouvers with ease and thanks to the duration of the Li-Po flight pack for a surprisingly long time. And for enhanced scale landings and take offs two additional servos may be mounted in the pre-formed servo mounts in the wing and fully operational flaps used.

Assembly could not be easier thanks to the extensive amount of pre-fabrication and takes less than thirty minutes, simply slide the tail plane into position and secure, connect the elevator push rod, install the landing gear and mount the wing, remembering of course to connect the aileron leads

Then it is simply a matter of charging the 3S Li-Po flight battery, binding the on-board receiver to your full range DSM2 transmitter, performing a range check and you are ready for aerial combat!

The Messerschmitt Bf 109G

The Messerschmitt Bf-109 was a German World War Two fighter aircraft designed by Willy Messerschmitt in the early 1930s. It was one of the first true modern fighters of that era and featured an all-metal monocoque construction, a closed canopy and retractable landing gear.
With a production run of 33,984 finally ending in April 1945 the BF109 was produced in greater quantities than any other fighter aircraft in history.

The Bf-109 was not only the backbone of the Luftwaffe it was also the most successful fighter of World War Two shooting down more aircraft than any of its contemporaries. Originally designed as an interceptor, it was also used as a bomber escort, fighter bomber, day-night-all-weather fighter and ground-attack aircraft.

Despite the Bf-109’s weaknesses of short range and challenging take off and landing characteristics it was a formidable opponent against Allied fighters with pilots from Jagdgeschwader 52 a unit, which exclusively flew the Bf-109, becoming the three top-scoring Luftwaffe fighter aces of World War Two. Gunter Rall claimed 275 victories, Gerhard Barkhorn 301 victories and Erich Hartmann 352 victories, making him the top scoring fighter pilot of all time.
