Based on the full size aircraft this model has been designed in cooperation with the Icon factory as such it has a very accurate scale outline and attention to detail.

With the ability to fly either off land or water with equal ease the model is a perfect choice for intermediate to experienced pilots looking for their first seaplane.

Constructed from durable Z-foam the Icon A5 is powered by a 480 size brushless outrunner motor matched to a three bladed "pusher" propelled that has been designed for maximum thrust, whilst the included 3S 11.1volt 2200mah 25 LiPo provides plenty of duration.

Once assembled this compact model may be left in one piece as access to the flight battery is quick and easy with no need to remove the wing.

In use when flying off water the high mounted motor and tail plane are kept well clear of water spray and thanks to the clever design of the "hull" the model is soon on-step and easily controlled.

The Icon A5

Manufactured by Icon Aircraft in the USA the Icon A5 aircraft is a unique luxury
2-seater amphibious sports airplane that combines cutting edge design
features, construction materials and dynamic looks.

Icon Aircraft, founded by Kirk Hawkins, an engineer and former US Air Force
F-16 fighter pilot, hope to revolutionise leisure flying with this stunning aircraft.

The A5 features a high-strength, lightweight carbon fibre airframe and is
powered by a reliable, 100-hp Rotax 912 ULS engine that runs on both
automobile and aviation petrol at an estimated top speed of 120 mph. With its
20-gallon tank, a very impressive range of 345 miles is achieved.

The two-seat sport plane features an amphibious design with retractable landing gear for flying off both land and water, plus several patent-pending technologies highlighted by folding wings that allow the plane to be easily stored and towed on the road with a trailer.

Other unique features of this aircraft are the two seat luxury cockpit with its dashboard and instrument styling that is more akin to a sports car in design, a propeller guard and built in roof mounted parachute that will allow the aircraft to descend safely in the event of complete system failure.

Early production models have proven to be very successful and significant pre-orders have been placed with the factory so the future of this unique aircraft looks to be secure.
