Open the box, charge the battery and fly, that’s the promise from the guys at ParkZone and they did not disappoint. Due to the vagaries of our weather and other commitments the day of our test flight of this little model was better than most of the recent flying days. Dry, sunny and with a modest 5mph wind, would this be too much for the T28 to handle? Not a bit of it, the T28 handled superbly right from the launch and in the air it looked great with its Red and White Navy colour scheme standing out against the blue sky. The easy removable landing gear was not fitted for these first flights as even with closely cropped grass it would be unlikely that the model would take off and in any event as with most models whatever the size, they just look so much better in the air with the gear tucked away. All of the basic aerobatic manouvers are performed with ease and the general flight characteristics of the model could best be described as docile, bearing in mind that this is a model with a low wing and a super light foam airframe. Flown in a large hall the optional tricycle landing gear can be fitted
in just a few seconds and with the added benefit of a steerable nose-leg
the model can be taxied to the take off point and back again after its
flight. With its fully proportional control surfaces it is possible to practice many of the manouvers normally associated with large outdoor models and it has to be said that the however you choose to fly theT28, it is a delightfully easy model to fly! |
