 FIREBIRD FREEDOM

The Freedom has everything you need to go flying in one box. The plane simply needs the landing gear attached, the two wing halves fitting and the rechargeable 7.2volt battery (which is also included) charged and installed. The kit includes a Hobbyzone A 1.2 amp variable rate DC peak detect charger with LED indicator and trickle charge, which will see the main battey pack charged in under 40 minutes. Finishing off the complete flying kit is fully proportional three channel radio as well as a detailed instruction manual, and a ‘learn to fly’ C.D.

The Firebird Freedom has it all. Everything needed to get flying comes in one box, plane, motor, radio transmitter, batteries and charger, just attach the wing panels to the fuselage, charge the battery, and go fly!
Featuring innovative ‘Anti-Crash Technology’ (ACT), which actively monitors the plane’s position relative to the ground and sky, should the plane enter a steep dive ACT will cut the motor and correct the angle and pitch of the plane, pulling the plane out of the dive allowing the pilot time to avoid a crash. ACT gives the Firebird Freedom a degree of stability and controlability not usually found in models of this type.
The three-channel proportional radio system makes it easier for anyone to teach themselves to fly. The third channel allows for greater pitch control and a wider range of manoeuvres with the added safety of ACT. Once the basic flight skills have been mastered the ACT function may be switched off allowing for more complete control so letting pilots execute even faster, more exciting aerobatics and manoeuvres.
The two-piece fifty inch span plug in wing is the largest in its class. Its swept-back wing design provides better handling in the wind and smoother flight.
Durable steel wire pushrods give more precise and consistent control, and a soft resilient nose cone cushions the force of impact in the event of a bumpy landing.
The Freedom comes with X-Port equipped technology, allowing use of the exciting range of accessories such as the aerial drop module, aerial combat module, and the night flight module, adding exciting new dimensions to the basic flight experience.
Assembly time is around four minutes for the plane, and forty minutes to charge the battery. Flight duration for the Firebird Freedom is between twelve and fifteen minutes

With X-port the flying experience is taken one step further with the addition of combat and aerial drop capabilities with plug-and-play accessories like the Sonic Combat Module and Aerial Drop Module. With the Aerial Drop Module bombs and parachutes can be released at the press of a button and if more than one plane can be airborne the addition of a combat module on each means the pilots can indulge themselves in the ancient art of aerial combat. The making of a Hobbyzone Ace!

ACT actually analyses the way the plane is flying and ensures it doesn’t fall into a dangerous dive. Two sensors monitor the attitude of the plane in relation to the ground, when its flying level the top sensor sees the sky and the bottom the ground. Together they tell the computer the plane is flying correctly. If it enters a threatening dive, and the top sensor detects ground instead of sky the computer will correct the control input and back off the throttle to help regain control. Once the pilot has gained experience ACT can be switched off.

Adding a third channel for pitch (elevator) control adds greater manoeuvrability and allows pilots to perform aerobatics.
