No
other teach-yourself-to fly model offers as much as the Hobbyzone Super
Cub. Constructed from lightweight and durable Z foam that is stronger
and lighter than most foams, enables the model to fly truer and straighter
than most others in its class. The Cub has incredible scale looks and
is jam packed with exciting features such as X-Port technology, for
use with exciting add on modules such as the Aerial Drop Module, Combat
Module, Night Flight Module. It is also equipped with Anti Crash Technology
(ACT) that makes teaching yourself to fly easier and safer than before.
The Cub has two ACT sensors mounted on the top and bottom of the fuselage
that constantly monitor the position of the plane in relation to the
ground, and if it looks to be entering a steep dive or possible crash
situation it will automatically correct the model’s position,
allowing the pilot time to regain control. As more experience is gained
the ACT feature may be switched off allowing for increased manoeuvrability.
Whilst ACT isn’t a guarantee against crashing it is certainly
a cost saving feature for the novice flyer.
Fitted with a powerful 480 motor, the Cub has performance to match
its great looks, and it comes complete with everything needed to get
into the air in as little time as possible. A 1.2amp variable rate
DC charger is included, bateries can be charged and ready for use in
under 40 minutes. Scale landing gear with lightweight foam wheels,
and steer able tail wheel complete the plane. A speedy assembly is
assured and it only requires that the one-piece wing, tail plane and
landing gear to be attached. The video CD and fully detailed instruction
manual show exactly how this should be done, and if you do this while
the battery is on charge, the Cub can be flight ready in about forty
minutes. |

| With
X-port the flying experience is taken one step further with the
addition of combat and aerial drop capabilities with plug-and-play
accessories like the Sonic Combat Module and Aerial Drop Module.
With the Aerial Drop Module bombs and parachutes can be released
at the press of a button and if more than one plane can be airborne
the addition of a combat module on each means the pilots can indulge
themselves in the ancient art of aerial combat. The making of a

(left) for more information on ACT |
| ACT actually analyses the
way the plane is flying and ensures it doesn’t fall into
a dangerous dive. Two sensors monitor the attitude of the plane
in relation to the ground, when its flying level the top sensor
sees the sky and the bottom the ground. Together they tell the
computer the plane is flying correctly. If it enters a threatening
dive, and the top sensor detects ground instead of sky the computer
will correct the control input and back off the throttle to help
regain control. Once the pilot has gained experience ACT can be
switched off. |

a third channel for pitch (elevator) control adds greater manoeuvrability
and allows pilots to perform aerobatics. |
