116GX2 (7.2) Petrol Engine without Muffler

Overview
The newest addition to the GX line of engines, the 116GX2 flat twin cylinder (boxer) is also Evolution’s largest and most powerful engine to date.
And what a power plant it is. It features new Con-Jet induction technology that is unique to this engine that enables the mixture to be controlled while the throttle valve is opening. It will lean the mixture at low rpm and at idle, conversely the mixture will become richer as the throttle is opening. This system provides better acceleration to high speed and maintains a stable idle. The beautifully cast light weight crankcase has the induction manifold facing to the rear which allows the Walbro carburettor to be mounted at the rear of the engine, enabling a direct throttle linkage to be used. The front of the crankcase and crankshaft housing is extensively webbed to provide strength, and lightness whilst reducing the risk of crankshaft flex. The 10mm crankshaft is supported front and rear with high quality substantial bearings for long life and smooth running. The machined aluminium multi-bolt prop hub provides a safe and secure method of attaching the large propellers that this engine is capable of turning. An advanced 4.8volt ignition system is used that includes an auto cut-off feature after ninety seconds of inactivity, and a rev-limiter that kicks in when the voltage drops, so you know its time to land and recharge the ignition battery pack. The twin spark plug leads and caps are shielded to reduce the risk of “RF interference” and two resistor type mini spark plugs are supplied. The engine is designed to run on a mixture of unleaded petrol and synthetic two stroke oil and a bottle of engine running in oil is included for use at a ratio of thirty parts petrol to one part oil, after running in, this ratio can be changed to forty parts petrol to one part oil. Large deeply finned cylinder heads provide excellent cooling, and if you are looking for unlimited power potential for giant scale, and 36% - 40% 3D models, nothing else comes close.
Suitable for the following Hangar 9 models, HAN 1175 Extra, HAN 1150 Edge 540.
