his year the weather Gods were on our side and Saturday was a very nice sunny dry day with very light winds, making a very nice change from the strong winds from previous shows. Sunday too was another great day and from start to finish the show was a hive of activity and along what seemed a never ending line of retailers there were bargains aplenty to be had! The year the large trade line was split into two rows, it was here that John Norris set up the Horizon Hobby Marquee to show off the latest products from HH to the public. The show saw the first public showing of the Hangar9 RV-8, also shown was the Hangar9 Toledo Special, and Saratoga to name just a few along with the new E-flite PT-17 Stearman and the fantastic |
Blade mSR Helicopter. These super little helicopters are so easy to fly and it was nice to
see people that purchased their Blade’s from one of the many retailers
during the day joining in the evening flying fun in the indoor arena
which also housed more trade stands and other modelling organisations, Darren Goule flying mainly Hangar9 war birds was joined by Azza Stephens with his B-25, Azza also entertained the crowds his 105inch wing span. Hangar9 Extra260 They even managed to get in |
some electric flights with the Parkzone Radian Glider and E-flite Bae Hawks. The climax to the show on Sunday evening was a spectacular pyrotechnic display with around 20 Hangar9 warbirds performing very low strafing runs followed by equally low bombing passes during which the dummy buildings were blown sky high in huge balls of fire and smoke, great stuff! So just how do we sum up this fantastic show? Well I could write about this model or that great model, or a myriad of other things that caught the eye, instead I feel this is one case where a “picture is worth a thousand words” and with that thought in mind here is a selection of show pictures that sum it up nicely. |
