The Flying Show 28th-29th November NEC |
||
The Flying Show is the UK's biggest indoor
full size aviation show covering the whole spectrum of lightweight sport
flying. It was here that the BMFA in a specially netted off area of the exhibition hall organized the indoor flying displays that wowed the visitors over the two day event. John Norris, Perry Lambert and Darren Goule from Horizon |
Hobby took the opportunity to display to great effect some of the amazing models from Parkzone and E-flite including the amazing indoor Suhkoi, P51 Mustang, P40 Warhawk, micro J3 Cub and the stunningly aerobatic 4-Site biplane. Helicopters displays using the ever reliable and popular E-flite “Blade”
series of mini helicopters were a popular attraction and there was an
amazing amount of interest shown in the first public showing of the fantastic
Blade mCX Tandem Rescue helicopter. |
Another model that really captured the imagination of full size pilots was the superb micro J3 Cub from Parkzone, the loose formation flying by John, Perry and Darren was without doubt a real hit of the weekend, bearing in mind that many of the spectators owned or had learned to fly in a J3 Cub this was hardly surprising. With the inspiration for our models coming from the full size aviation world it was nice to see the interaction between modelers and pilots and whilst many modelers might not take up full size flying it was clear from the response our models received that many full size pilots cant wait to get their hands on a R/C model and it is hoped that they enjoyed their weekend as much as we did. |
