Indoor Electric Masters |
||||
Indoor flying at its best, that was the verdict from
all that attended or took part in the British Model Flying Association
(BMFA) Indoor Electric Masters that took place over the weekend of December
the 5th and 6th at the Richard Dunn Sports Centre, Bradford. This superb
venue will hosted to a full weekend of indoor flying where some of the
worlds top pilots can be seen competing for trophies in the following
classes, F3P (3 classes) Aeromusical, Synchro Pair, Freestyle, One model
Pylon Racing and the Katie Anne Whitehead Memorial Trophy. Top pilots from England, Scotland and Northern Ireland were joined by pilots from many other countries including Poland, Holland, France, Sweden, Lithuania and Canada bringing the number of participantsto 33 and making the event a truly international affair. |
Horizon Hobby were just one of the many sponsors that were pleased to
support this fantastic event and throughout the two days some of the
best indoor flying to be seen anywhere in the world took place, and lets
face it there is nothing quite like a competition to bring out the best
in participating pilots! The weekends flying was broken down into different classes, each with
increased complexity: Freestyle has a time limit of 2 ½ minutes on Saturday and 3 minutes
on Sunday |
Flying
started on Saturday at 10am with the first round of the F3P-C and finished approx 5.30pm, there was a lunch time break were general
flying took place At the end of Saturday there was a much welcomed Buffet put on for all
pilots, helpers and organisers held the sports hall. Sunday saw the start of the Aeromusical rounds along with the pylon
racing that was a new event for 2009 a simple format pylon race designed
to get the pilots and spectators alike thrilled! The official racer chosen for the event was a version of the Gee Bee racer that was a downloadable plan from which the pilots |
built
their models, however strict rules were in place to ensure that everyone
had a fair chance of winning based solely on their flying ability. Sunday lunch break followed the same pattern as Saturday with general
flying and Horizon joined in once again and let one of the top F3P pilots
put the Micro 4-Site through its paces, truly spectacular! |
