Model Engineer Exhibition Alexandra Palace 2012 |
|||
Once again the show season got underway with John Norris and Perry Lambert of Horizon Hobby UK ably assisted by Perry's father John Lambert, grandson James flying virtually non-stop over the three days of 20th, 21st and 22nd of January 2012 at the annual London Model Engineering Exhibition. Working in cooperation with the British Model Flying Association (BMFA) the guys kept the spectators entertained over the three days flying a selection of electric fixed wing models and helicopters from the extensive E-flite and Blade ranges, these included the Blade Scout, Blade Msr-X, Blade Mcp-X v2, Blade 120 SR, Blade SR and the Blade Huey. |
During the short breaks between flying the guys were on hand to answer any questions from the spectators whilst showing them how the models worked, together with the guys from the BMFA these potential modellers' were offered sound advice on how to get safely started in model flying. The latest Phoenix flight simulator was on hand to give members of the public the chance to experience the thrill of flying an R/C model without the risk of an expensive (real world) crash, however when the inevitable (simulated) crashes did occur a simple press of the reset button had the model ready for another flight and during the weekend the "sim" was in constant use with a queue of people waiting to get some stick time! To sum up the three days then, lots of very entertaining flying, lots of fun and a great opportunity to marvel at the skills of the model engineers and meet and greet the many friends that we have made throughout the past years at "Ally Pally" TG |
