Too often
these days we are forced into making choices that
we don’t want to make, you know the sort
of thing….. work or the pub…….
pizza or chinese……. monster truck
or buggy. Take the latter example, you want the
monster truck looks and ground pounding large wheels
capable of clawing their way over even the largest
obstacle, but at the same time you long for sharp
acceleration, rapid speeds and nimble handling.
Such a shame you can’t have both……….well
you can with a Muggy!
The Losi Muggy is not just another eighth scale buggy
with a big wheel slapped on each corner, the Muggy
is purpose built from the ground up to do the job,
and to do it better than anything else out there!
First thing that strikes you about the Muggy are
its looks. There is no mistaking that it is a big
truck, but the sleek racing shell, raised rear spoiler
and low profile ‘420’ series wheels and
tyres all tell you that this is something very different
indeed! At the heart of the beast sits the Platinum
Edition Mach 427 spin-start engine, complete with
a race-tuned pipe and three-shoe clutch. This awesome
power is distributed to front and rear via a centre
differential. This ensures that power is evenly spread
and makes sure that maximum drive is always obtained!
The bullet proof hardened steel CVD drive-shafts
from the LST2 are used as the final link between
engine and wheel for the very best in reliability
and performance. The rigid aluminium chassis incorporates
an alloy radio tray featuring a twin servo steering
system. Two high torque metal-geared servos combine
to give some serious power and makes sure that you
are pointing exactly in the direction you want to
go! All weight is kept as low as possible, helping
make the Muggy stable, sharp and consistent. The
extremely long suspension arms are impressively chunky.
Double wishbone suspension is used front and rear
to maximise strength and durability. The chassis
is supported by four of the largest oil filled shock
absorbers seen on a model of this scale. The oversized
long stroke shock bodies have been constructed from
a high quality composite material meaning they can
hold a large reservoir of oil while remaining as
light as possible. They have the added bonus of threaded
ride height adjusters so that quick, accurate and
infinite ride height settings are possible. The result
is simply the best shock absorber of its type! Each
has been mounted at the optimum angle complete with
a full sway-bar set, giving the chassis good support
through the corner while allowing them to absorb
rough terrain and soften your return to earth from
any dare-devil jumps that you simply cannot resist!
The Losi Muggy comes complete with the battery operated
spin-start system and three-model memory computer
radio with adjustable end-stops and rates. It even
comes with an 1100mah receiver pack fitted as standard!
So ponder no more, everything about the Muggy screams
quality, strength and most importantly the best of
both worlds!

Designed to work
with the higher pressures needed to apply Parma’s
Faskolor paints this new gravity feed dual action airbrush
pairs up with the original F-1 bottom feed gun offering
a different spraying method for Faskolor and other paints.
Bottom feed airbrushes are great for spraying larger
areas but although this gravity feed gun can cope with
that it’s real strength is in applying small amounts
of paint, either perhaps detail or highlight on a larger
area, or even just plain spraying smaller areas. Swapping
colours is much simpler with a gravity fed gun like this,
and with Faskolor a few drops of a fresh colour can be
dropped into the paint cup easily after it has been flushed
after spraying the previous one.
Its all-metal construction makes it a well weighted airbrush,
and with the air feed coming in the underside roughly half
way down it’s length it sits easily in the hand when
being used. This is important with a double action gun
where emphasis is on controlling the air/paint trigger
rather than actually hanging on to the airbrush itself.
It’s nickel and chrome plated, essential for working
with water based paints, but O-rings are all solvent proof,
so it can handle solvent based paints as well.
Like the original F-1 airbrush this version features a
needle guard that is reversible, giving the brush two different
application characteristics. In its normal position it
not only protects the exposed portion of the needle but
also gives the airbrush a wide soft edged spray pattern
ideal for spraying large areas. Reversing it creates a
smooth, aerodynamically rounded area at the needle/tip
intersection, generating a fine sharp edged pattern which
is suitable for more detailed work. The F-1 really is a
high quality airbrush, made in the USA, and will without
doubt deliver years of reliable service. All of the component
parts are available as spares, most of which it shares
with the original. The Faskolor F-1 is supplied with air
hose, compressor adaptor, spanner and airbrush hanger.
Features

• Stainless Steel needle (essential with water
based paints)

can be used with solvent based paints too
• Heavy nickel chrome plating (essential with
water based paints)
• Attached needle tube / rocker lever assembly

The latest evolution
of engine from the LRP nitro stable is the ZR.21X.
Aimed solely at the 1/8th competition market, LRP’s
most powerful generation of engine yet has been designed
with only the serious racer in mind.
Recently used to great effect by the factory drivers at
the Euros warm up race in Greece, the ZR.21X has all the
makings of a true, big race winner!
The 5 transfer and 1 exhaust ports flow through the carefully
sculptured black crankcase and service the latest high-performance
silicium alloy CNC-machined piston and ABC liner. Externally
the case has been expertly designed to provide maximum
integrity and heat dissipation while bringing it in at
only 340grams!
The turbo plug and head are shrouded by the blue anodised
heat sink with milled detail.
The14SV-2 thermally protected carburettor comes complete
with 7.0, 8.0 and 9.0mm venturi inserts to further aid
performance, fine tuning and fuel economy.
All this technology and design work culminates to give
the ZR.21X superior performance. Capable of producing a
maximum of 35,400 rpm and 2.71 horses, it delivers a perfect
linear power delivery, a must when competing at the highest
level!
