This class
of racing is probably one of the oldest in the country and started
off in the 1970's. This class is considered as the fastest and most precise class of them all. The cars are 1:12th scale replicas of the modern day Le Mans prototype sports cars. |
In this class of racing
there are two main catagories of racing, 2WD and 4WD buggies which
are designed for many surfaces. The tracks are built on surfaces
such as grass, dirt, astroturf, tarmac or mixes with features such
as jumps and vertical walls as apart of the track design. This
cass really tests drivers abilities to controll the car in the
air and on various surfaces. |
This class of racing is the equivelent to the full size British
Touring Cars. The cars are representations of road cars, but under
the bodyshell lies a 4 wheel drive chassis that is sensitive to
set up change making part of the chalange not only getting the
car around but finding the right set up. As in full size touring
car racing there is plenty of close racing and door rubbing. |
One of the toughest
classes raced through the world, these cars are perminant 4WD,
powered by 3.5cc engines with double disc breaks to bring them
to a stop. Raced on many different surfaces on tracks that can
take upto 45 seconds to lap these cars race whatever the weather
and take a punishing as the track changes through the event! |
