With
electric Off-road racing growing in popularity
and the nationals fully booked we are looking at
possibly one of the most competitive championships
in a long time.
The first round
of this years national championship was held
at Tiverton and possibly for last time. Tiverton
club who have held many great events over the
years could well loose the track due to the owners
changing the surface, we can only say a big thank
you to all the club members and just hope they
can find a new venue.
In 2wd Darren Bloomfield
driving a Losi XXXCR took TQ in the first two rounds
to set himself up for the finals later in the day.
Neil Cragg took round 3 in his usual dominating
style with Tom Yardy claiming round 4 and so securing
second on the grid for the finals. Darren stayed
calm on the first lap of the first A final and
never looked back taking the win with confidence.
A very similar story to the second final but Darren
came under some serious pressure from Tom Yardy
and world champion Neil Cragg. Darren still continued
to hold his nerve and win by less than one second
securing RD1 of the national championships. Congratulations
Darren. |
