The Track
The meeting was set for four rounds of qualifying but with no practice. The Coventry track consists of a mix of grass, dirt and Astroturf but has areas where the track is bumpy and can prove unpredictable.

Tyre Choice
I started the day using Losi silver compound Step Pin. These gave good grip all around the damp but fast drying track. For the last round and final though I changed to Panther- Komodo Dragons ‘2’ in soft compound. The Dragons ‘2’ were excellent all over the now dry and dusty track.

Qualifying and finals
After finishing in the top five in three out of the four rounds, I was to start Fifth on the grid. By the start of the A final the track was cutting up and very bumpy. I knew that my car was handling the bumps very well and I was able to make up a lot of time on the top four cars. At about ten minutes in to the race I took over the lead and never looked back. With just three laps to go and eighteen seconds in front of second place, I drove the car clean and steady, trying to keep clear of back markers and took the meeting win.

A Good Day!
The car and engine performed just as well as any of the high-end competition car and engine combinations racing on the day, and I was also very impressed with the Panther tyres. They gave great traction and at the end of over thirty minutes of use showed hardly any wear on them at all!

I won the meeting using the following equipment,

Sportwerks Turmoil Pro Buggy.
Sportwerks V2 Engine.
Losi 30% Nitrotane Race Fuel.
Panther- Komodo Dragons ‘2’ Soft.
Losi Step Pin- Silver.
Parmer X-Citer Body.
Spektrum 2.4.
KO Esprit 3.
