The electric off-road national championship series has been incredibly well attended and one of the most competitive for years. With a multitude of new 4wd creations on the market things have really been spiced up a little.
In 2wd so far this year it has been a real battle between the current European and World Champion Neil Cragg and our very own Darren Bloomfield. Both drivers have had their share of good and back luck, the championship is sure to be very closely contested right down to the wire.

The last national at Southport provided nothing less than a rollercoaster event for both contenders of the 2wd championships. Breakages in rounds and bad luck with the weather sure put the challenge to all the competitors on race day. After qualification was complete the current Champion had taken TQ by winning two rounds of qualification and Darren lined up second on the grid supported by Richard Taylor making two Losi's in the top three and only the Current World champion in front of them. Also in the Final with his LRP brushless powered Losi XXX was Danny McGee.

The finals were sure to be quite exciting with all the A finalists up for a great race. Neil and Darren shared the first two races and then in the third and deciding final Neil made a small mistake and broke his car. This allowed Darren to get away from the chasing pack and take the overall win for the day. Richard Taylor finished fourth overall and Danny McGee seventh. An excellent result for the Losi Horizon Hobby team.

The Losi Team continued to shine in 4wd with this time Richard Taylor taking the top spot and securing TQ with some very quick consistent driving. Also making the final for Losi were Darren Bloomfield Losi KO Peak LRP Spektrum, Danny McGee Losi LRP KO, Phil Sleigh Losi LRP and Kevin Lee Losi LRP Peak KO. With 50% of the final using the Losi XX4 the result couldn't ahve been much better.

In the first final it was as if no-body really wanted to win with all of the top four taking the lead at some point and them making a mistake and allowing the others through. Richard Taylor took the win in leg one setting himself up nicely for the next two legs of the finals. In the second final no mistakes and a good solid drive from Richard ensured he took the win and the overall win for the day. In leg three the 2nd-4th positions were still up for grabs and when the dust settled Darren Bloomfield won the last final securing second place and Danny McGee third overall.

Five Losi 4wd cars in the final and taking top three for the day congratulations to the team on a job very well done!
