The world of monster truck racing is a highly competitive arena.
Millions of dollars are spent building and running these hugely
powerful machines, so being the best gives you significant bragging
rights. One such truck is the Raminator! Weighing in at over four
and a half tons, this monumental Dodge towers over ten feet tall
and 12 feet wide… not designed with low bridges or the local high
street in mind then! What it was built for was winning, and this
it does in spades!
Despite the truck’s weight and size, the 565 cubic inch supercharged
hemi engine, which produces over two thousand brake horse power,
will fire this leviathan over anything that lies in its path and
it will do this faster than the opposition. Four back-to-back championships
have proved that the Hall Brothers Racing team know how to build
and back a true winner, so when Team Losi came knocking and suggested
that they team up to build a replica radio control version of their
famous machine they jumped at the chance!
The ready to run 1/18th scale Raminator visually matches the real
truck on every front. Obviously the body shell has been specially
designed and manufactured to look exactly like the real thing.
The pre-mounted Dodge Ram pick-up body is fully detailed with the
Raminator’s striking red paint scheme and graphics. The wheels
and tyres have also been produced to match its bigger namesake.
In place of the 565 cubic inch supercharged hemi is the high-powered
‘Frenzy’ electric motor. This drives the transmission in both forward
and reverse via not one, not two but three metal-geared differentials,
ensuring that the power is evenly distributed to the wheels. You
also have the option of doubling your power output by fitting a
second optional motor! The four-wheel independent suspension chassis
is controlled by dual steering servos using industry standard three
wire connectors and has large volume oil filled shock absorbers
with coil over springs on each corner. These can be infinitely
tuned for ride height and viscosity, depending on your personal
taste and requirements.
The chassis set-up is based on the massively popular Mini LST,
so an extensive option parts list is also available.
Being fully ready to run the Raminator comes with a UK mains charger,
1100mAh 7.2 volt battery pack and the radio is also installed and
set-up. The Team Losi synthesised pistol grip radio system has
six selectable frequencies on the 27MHz band available at the touch
of a button. This means that no additional crystal sets are needed,
just select another channel and go run!
