The
actual candies are a tinted translucent lacquer,
the effect being completed by backing them up
with a base colour. The range includes a silver
especially for this but backing up with different
colours produces different effects. You can back
up with white, gold, black, ordinary silver and
each will produce a different overall colour.
These are the most difficult colours in the range
to use but the final effect is worth the effort.
The Ice Candy will need four coats and as with
the fluorescents divide the body into areas and
apply the coats at ninety degrees to each other
to prevent patchy or streaky finishes. Put a thin
initial coat on but then put on just slightly heavier
than usual coats, so the paint looks just wet as
it goes on.
Care should be taken to make sure that the body
is free of fragments like dust and hairs before
applying the Ice Candy coat as this will show through
to the finish |
