Not only do these locomotives look the part, they can also sound the part as well, thanks to the custom designed SoundTraxx Tsunami Digital Sound Decoder with inbuilt speakers that is included in many of the sound-equipped locomotives.  This digital decoder accurately reproduces all the scale sounds and noises of the original locomotive be they Diesel or Steam powered.  Programmed to include dynamic sounds, such as brake squeal and even the whistling of a Turbocharger or the crashing of a coupler, the Tsunami Digital Sound Decoder is compatible with any NMRA DCC system or conventional DC control thanks to the system’s hand-held wireless controller.
